With wallpaper week fast approaching I thought it was about time to share my trip up to the midlands to visit the historic factory of Graham & Brown, a wallpaper and wallcoverings business that has been prospering since the mid 40s. Started by two dear friends, the company has gone on to become an iconic British brand in the wallcoverings industry and is even still run by younger generations of the founding members Harold Graham and Henry Brown. I'm such a huge fan of wallpaper that any excuse to celebrate wallpaper week wasn't exactly hard to refuse!

Now you know me, I always love a factory tour (how many times have I said that ‘how it’s made’ is one of my ultimate favourite shows!) so I was well up for a visit. Not only that but I’m a huge fan of their line with Barbara Hulanicki, founder of 60s fashion and homewares brand BIBA and I even have some of their paper in my home.

Mode Illusion, now in my tiny home office, was bought by me about 7 years before I even owned a property. I saw it in B&Q and thought ‘I have to have it’ one day it’ll be up in my first home’. 7 years later, it was. So I’ll always hold Graham & Brown wallpapers dear to my heart! Also they just collaborated with my besties 2 Lovely Gays on a fabulous, boundary pushing collection. Read more about that and see the whole collection here.

First we got a look at some new wallpapers...

Then a look around the factory itself...

And then we got to see some of their talented artists at work and take a peek through the archives...

This year sees Graham & brown’s 70th anniversary, so expect to see new collections celebrating the archives, and fun activities throughout wallpaper week (3-9th Oct).

To celebrate wallpaper week, I’d love to share 6 of my favourite papers from the entire range.

Which is your favourite?
