LEARNING HOW TO SCREEN PRINT WITH DANIEL HEATH

Ever thought about how those intricate patterns and prints are made? Or wondered why screen printing is like, so 'in' right now? Or why it costs more than digital printing? Well, because I'm really cool (?!) these kind of questions do enter my mind pretty often. And, I do love a bit of paint-jobby fun so when new social platform In The Window asked if I wanted to come along and learn how to screen print from the master of Art Deco wallpaper himself Daniel Heath, I kindly obliged. I'd seen Dan's work at both the Dulux installation that I worked on and at Decorex during LDF and was really impressed.

Earlier this week I was invited over to the House of Fraser head office to get an exclusive press preview of their new A/W home collection. Though I'm not one to follow trends to the T, I'm always interested to see different brands' takes on future trends and there are usually a number of pieces that can be pulled out and worked into any eclectic setting. I definitely found a few bits that I'll be picking up. So let's get into it! Here's what the HOF design team have in store for you after summer...

INTRO TO: AMY SOMERVILLE

Every now and then a contemporary piece of furniture comes along that blows my love for vintage out of the water. Amy Somerville's designs did just that. I stumbled across Amy's pieces with the help of the loveliness that is google. Looking for a 'green armchair' to perfectly encapsulate a rich jewel green of a mallard's head (yep you heard right) when creating a colour scheme inspired by the bird, I came across the image of her Minx Chair.

THE HUNT FOR THE PERFECT VINTAGE ARMCHAIR

Remember a few months back I won the home blogger awards and said I'd use the money for something special? Well here it is! We've been on the hunt for the perfect vintage armchair for our living room for months now. You wouldn't believe the back and forth my husband and I had over choosing the chair! Would we have one, or two? Could we find one that looked great but suited our budget? Was it comfortable? We had some very specific requirements.

7 OF THE HOTTEST TEAPOTS IN THE LAND

I'm a bit of a junkie for a good tea set. I recently got my first teapot when we moved house form my mummy. It even matches the colour of my front door. I think one can truly feel an adult when they own a tea service. So, here to help you feel more adultly, I've picked out 7 of the hottest (I was going to call them coolest, but logic and all that) teapots IN THE LAND.
