cool sofas

When we bought our flat a really sexy sofa was one of the key pieces that we needed to save up for. For a few months we survived with a pair of Ikea 'Klippan' shoved next to each other (we will not talk of or show images of those times ever again past this moment) but after a while it was time for something cooler! Buying a sofa is quite a big decision and it can be pricey, but I've put together my top 5 sofas that are totally uber chic and look double what they cost to buy. Peaked your interest yet?!

1. French Connection - Quartz

We ended up getting the Flint from French Connection at DFS as the Quartz wasn't out at that time. Now I've found the Quartz I am already thinking about getting that! It's got the comfiness and practicality of a corner sofa but in a bit of a sleeker setting, with a chaise section to stretch out on if you want to add it. Personally, I really like the clean lines of the arms. Starting at just £648 for a two seater, this is worth checking out.

2. MADE.COM - Fielding

This will really appeal to any Mid-Mod fans (midcentury modern for anyone who hasn't caught up with my strange interiors lingo just yet) with its 50s inspired silhouette. The darker grey chevron fabric brings it up to date, though this wouldn't look to out of place on the set of Mad Men. The Fielding starts at £899.

*note* if you, like me are absolutely DEVO at the loss of Mad Men then check out my guide to decorating in the style of our favourite 60s drama here!

I shouldn't really link to this as by the time this goes live it'll probably be out of stock. Swoon Edition's USP is that they have limited amounts of all stock so sometimes there are only 5 made (like this one). But this is just an idea of the kind of pieces they have on offer. The Zetter has the detailing that I've only really seen on very high end pieces. The piping, the exposed plinth frame, that colour! This one is £549. Now you get why I love Swoon Editions, right?!

4. M&S - Harper

I worked on the M&S shoot for the S/S 2015 range and this came on set and blew me away. M&S... really?! Olive green velvet and cute 50s lines? HELL YEAH! If you wanna see it put together in a scheme I happened to use it in one of my recent colour inspiration posts. At £1299 for the velvet it's a little bit more pricey than my other options but in my opinion still looks like it's worth way more than that! I've seen some proper vintage sofas that are amazing at thousands and thousands and this can sit alongside them and still look as quality.

Ok before I type any more you need to know that this is a three seater sofa, from Habitat, and it's ONLY £375! I love the super skinny arms and thin frame. Really delicate and modern. Plus Navy always a fab go to colour that practically can hide a multitude of sins but also is pretty classic and can be styled in so many different ways. Personally I'd spray paint the legs gold and make it even more sexy. Booyah!

So there are my 5 top picks of sofas that I think look like they are worth wayyyy more that you're gonna pay for them. Where else has great style at an affordable price, sofas or otherwise? Would love to hear your suggestions in the comments below :)
