A DAY OUT AT VAUXHALL CITY FARM AND TEA HOUSE THEATRE
While I wait to add the finishing touches to my hallway makeover and unveil it, I thought I'd share a little of what I've been up to. I love the days where nothing is planned. Spontaneously it all comes together and turns into a lovely, memorable day. That's what last Saturday turned out to be as the sun came out and we took Marley over to the Vauxhall city farm, with a spot of tea for lunch!
The city farm is pretty small but still has a good selection of animals, so it's perfect for a short trip with kids (or adults of you fancy it)! They have alpacas, lamb, sheep and even some ponies and horses. Marls is always pretty obsessed with the goats for some reason...
After getting our animal fix we took a wander across the gardens and to a little place I discovered a few years back called the Tea House Theatre. It's a converted pub that's a proper traditional tea house and I absolutely love it! The tables are spread with a selection of yummy cakes, the decor is proper old English style and it almost feels like you could be back in war times with the bunting and style of the place. The service is great, the tea selection vast, cakes wonderful and the food's pretty good too.
Admittedly sitting at a low table wasn't our smartest idea as Marley wanted to get into everything, like pouring me tea, putting sugar in my teacup, pointing me even more tea... You get the idea!
I treated myself to a veggie English breakfast and a pot of chai tea (some of the best I've tasted with a lovely spicy aftertaste). The veggie sausages were actually decent as well. It's also really kid friendly with lots of toys in one corner for any fidgety kiddos.
After that we took a stroll back to the car and home to chillax!
What did you get up to this weekend?
