We've been working for months on getting our bathroom up to the standard that I'm happy to share with you guys. It's nearly there, with just the flooring still to be completed. We're going to experiment with screed flooring which gives a similar effect to concrete at a fraction of the price. Will show you how that goes!

In the meantime, I've been doing lots of fantasy bathroom planning with the current inspiration being a combo of brass, whitewashed exposed brick and concrete.

Whitewashed brick has that same cool, warehouse type vibe without detracting from your colour palette.

distressed concrete walls

I love the effect of distressed concrete walls and this flooring I assume is screed. Hopefully that's what ours will look like!

Wouldn't it be cool to have a washbasin sunk into a gilt table like this?

So after all this daydreaming I decided to hit my favourite iPad app, neybers, and make it all come to life!

I've managed to get in a whitewashed brick wall, some lovely palms, beautiful gilded furniture and of course a little bit of statement print. It's my recognisable (I hope!) look of old meets new.

Neybers is such a wicked app for helping me get down my ideas. Almost everything that I need to make the vision in my head come to life is there, plus all of the pieces found in stores and from established designers. I've lost so many hours to it but I'm not complaining! As an aspiring designer it really helps to showcase my ideas and give people an idea of my style, even before I have a portfolio.

If you have an iPad, just GET IT!

So, what do you think of my Brick, Brass and Concrete bathroom look?
