MY CURATED SHOP SELECTION - MAY
I started a shop on here a while ago but after realising I did something really fricking dumb which meant that every item showed up at the bottom of every page (duh, blonde moment) I had to take it down and start again. But hurrah! I've finally had time to do that and I've decided that instead of having a shop full of the same stuff, I want to curate a selection of 10 brilliant items every month.
Each month you'll find a good mix of homewares, from soft furnishings to artwork, dinnerware to bathroom goodies. They will vary in price from the affordable to the aspirational, for anyone who fancies a big treat yourself moment.
Here are my picks for May!
I chose this M&S Club chair as it has an elegant shape in the style of a Victorian chair. I also loves the brass effect roller feet and this deep plum colour is sumptuous and sexy.
I found these guys on twitter a few days ago and have been in love with their trays ever since. Made since the 1950's in Bermondsey, London, these trays are the real deal! Can't wait to get one for breakfast in bed. Who am I kidding, that's never happened.
It's yellow and it has a bold geometric print on it. Of course I was going to love it!
I'm a big fan of interesting serveware, especially if it hints at Art Deco. These scallop shaped plates do just that and would look brilliant when filled with a well presented starter. Perfect for dinner parties.
Totally affordable, totally vintage chic. I adore this toile bedding and wish I had a bedroom that it would work in!
You can just tell these have that tactile, handmade quality that just doesn't exist in items that have been mass produced. I love the simplicity of the black dot against the grainy white. The designer, Camilla Engdahl, does some other pieces with bold funky shapes too. A lovely thing to have to offer guests who pop round for coffee.
Do I need to explain this item?! It's a door knocker that looks like a lobster! It's fricking awesome!
This oil on canvas painting has classic style. My grandparents used to have lots of painting like this around their country cottage, so I love the idea of having it hung adjacent to a totally contemporary pop art piece.
It's a bit on the pricey side for a blanket but I've never found one with such perfect colour, print and trim all in one. It's dreamy!
So that's May's selection. Keep an eye out in a few week for June's. I actually can't believe it's nearly June!
