COLE & SON HISTORICAL PALACES COLLECTION
I'm a total sucker for Cole & Son wallpaper, it's so well made and they always have the most unique designs, from totally contemporary geometrics to classic florals. I was having a little peruse and noticed they have now launched a collaboration with Historic Royal Palaces, a collection which is a modern take on the decorations of 5 royal residences.
Not for the faint hearted, these wallpapers are extremely decorative and for those who want to bring about a sense of opulence and a historic, over the top look.
My favourites within this collection have to be the Queens key border in Black and White which could be used in any modern monochrome room...
They also do a full Queens key wallpaper in this slight metallic gold shade.
As you can see at the bottom of the last picture above, they also supply a panelled wall effect paper that is to be laid horizontally, and they do this in a few colourways.
I have to be honest and say I'd much rather have real panelling, but if there is absolutely no way it's possible and you still want the same effect then this isn't a bad choice. There is also a photographic style panelled wallpaper that has a more realistic finish and also a slight texture which is available at Wallpaper Direct. It's not cheap at £146.99 for 10 metres, but it has a more quality finish, in my opinion.
