DINNER & DECOR: 197 CHISWICK FIRE STATION
197 Chiswick firehouse is a brand new restaurant in West London, combining effortlessly elegant decor with a tasty menu and friendly, relaxed vibes. Perfect for a Friday lunch with the fam!
The fire station is right on the high street, so if you're lucky you can nab a parking spot outside.
Upon entry you're greeted by a large central bar adorned with herbs for cocktails and surrounded by chic bar stools.
Large period windows let in loads of light, so it feels airy and cool even on a hot day like when we went.
There are a few different seating areas so you can go for casual lounging on the sofas, a booth with friends or a table. Oh and they have an outside terrace too, WIN!
Cacti are a design staple here, as are mixed materials like brick, painted wood and velvet.
Now on to the food. firstly our waiter was fab, he didn't even bat an eyelid when Marley spilt her freshly delivered apple juice within 5 seconds of having it!
To start we had the ginger chicken cakes...
and the crispy peppered squid. Both delicious and just what we needed for our rumbling bellies.
An Old Fashioned was essential.
As was a hearty Bloody Mary for me!
I ordered the coconut chicken salad which was just what I needed on a hot day. refreshing and healthy without being too heavy.
Jason went for the beer braised beef brisket, which was absolutely incredible. I swiftly gobbled up my salad and then proceeded to 'help' him eat this too. When we return I'll order this all for myself.
Did I mention how kid friendly this place is?! Marley had the little people's tempura fish fingers and chips, which was probably the poshest fish fingers I've ever tried. Though she was more interested in feeding it to daddy.
I don't just eat his food.
They have a great selection of artwork too, including this Elvis photograph which has been on my wish list for years. It's like they knew I was coming.
Time for dessert!
We chose the Rasberry Posset. PERFECTION.
Marls had ice cream, of course!
197 Chiswick Fire Station was an instant favourite and I'll be returning. It's so family friendly without being really full on wailing kids and nappy changing... chic family dining I suppose! On the other end of the spectrum In the evening it would also be great for a date or dinner with the homies.
What do you think? Do you fancy trying out the Chiswick Fire Station?
