I've never been to the Ideal Home Show. Just never got round to it. I've always heard great things so I was really excited to be invited down on behalf of Ekornes, makers of the Stressless recliner chairs. I'd not heard of them before but my god, their chairs are amazing! Ok so here's how my day panned out...Read More
I went along to talk to first time buyer and visual merchandiser Emma, who showed me around her bright, airy, retro influenced flat she shares with her boyfriend. She shared her unconventional first time buyer story and we talked about what they had to do to modernise the flat when moving in and how she used youtube videos to learn how to update her kitchen on a budget.Read More
Don't get me wrong, I bloody well LOVE Ikea. I mean they make awesome furniture, super duper Daim cake and it is Swedish after all (my family are part Swede). But you know what I'm gonna say. EVERYONE'S GOT IT. Even if you go for what you think is the most obscure item they have you will still see it in your friends bedroom or on the couch in Eastenders.Read More
I've been feeling really frustrated recently. I'm loving this blog and being able to share my visions and style with you guys, and it's even better to hear and be told that you're enjoying it! But I really want to share my own photos of my own styling and room designs, not other people's, and I've been getting frustrated because something is holding me back from being able to show it to you.Read More
Is it just me and my age or does it seem like EVERYONE is moving at the moment?! I once read that you should never turn up to someone's house empty handed. Even if it's a flower picked from the garden or a home made dessert there's nothing like receiving a gift for your home from a friend. I've made a selection of some banging gifts that will suit every new homeowner, from the bachelor to the glamour puss.Read More
I'd erased the frustration of buying a property from my mind but after seeing so many people in the same position as we were last year I thought it might be helpful or comforting to share it. We went through it all, landlords selling form under our feet, legal issues, mortgage rejections and even property eating plants. Yep, no 'little shop of horrors', it's a real thing.Read More
Is Olive the most sumptuous, sophisticated and grown up colour? Ok, deep breath, you can tell I'm a bit excited about this one. I just LOVE Olive. It screams grown up glamour. It works ridicuslously well in crushed velvet. But it always seems to be so damn expensive! So I took this simplistic and calm room and scoured the net for the best products to recreate the look for way less.
Enough already Sarah, just show them the room.Read More
I've had a little idea brewing in the back of my mind. I constantly want soft furnishings that I just can't find anywhere. Or I find the sort of thing I want but it's not quite right. Or it is right and it's far too expensive. Wouldn't it be awesome if like, I could just make this stuff myself?Read More
Any woman worth her salt knows that Zara is seriously killing it with their high street fashion at the moment, but not many people know that they also have a whole site dedicated to homewares.
Zara home recently launched their new Spring Summer collection so I've done an edit of my fave pieces with some inspiration as to how to style the pieces.Read More
