Recently Jason and I have been talking a lot about what our next property move will be. We have gotten to a point where we might be able to look at either investing in a second property or selling up and moving to a new place to do it up…Read More

The other day I logged onto Facebook to see my friend had written a post about how frustrated she was that her house wasn't finished after nearly 2 years of living there, and that she felt like she was living on a building site. I on the other hand, was grappling with the seriously-fucking-annoying problems of things feeling like they were falling apart just as we seemed to get them finished. But I found a pretty unconventional way to get over it.Read More
We've been living in our lovely flat for just over a year now. As you may have seen in past blog posts, it hasn't been exactly how I envisaged the first year here to be. A year on, I'm about to get real and share all the things we missed when we moved in that I wish we'd taken more time on now, so that you can save yourself time and money by learning from our mistakes.Read More

Hey everyone, take a look inside my bog :) When we moved in the toilet room wasn't high on our list of concerns. The original plan was to knock the wall between the WC and bathroom down and create one larger bathroom. However, after being quoted a high amount to do that, we decided to instead create an awesome feature toilet room. Here's what we did.Read More
We moved into our flat just over a year ago. It was a real fixer-upper, with no proper flooring, magnolia splashed walls and an extremely old bathroom and kitchen. As soon as we got the keys we set about starting work, which was mostly decorating after the Kitchen and bathroom had been done. We wore really cool overalls like in the picture above and pretended we were out of Breaking Bad. Unfortunately, because we hadn't really had loads of experience decorating (apart from the odd bedroom as a kid, and I'm sure I wasn't that helpful!) we ended up doing things in the wrong order and sometimes 2 or 3 times before it was right. Here's my list of what we did wrong and how to do it right, so that you won't make the same mistakes that we did!Read More
I went through the first time buyer process last year and I know that a lot of you guys are going through it now or in the near future too. I sat down with Croydon based estate agent Paul O'Shea, director and owner of Paul O'Shea estate agents get the nitty gritty on why the market is going crazy, what first time buyers can do to be in with the best chance of securing a property, and to find out if estate agents are really out to rip buyers off off like everyone believes!Read More
I went along to talk to first time buyer and visual merchandiser Emma, who showed me around her bright, airy, retro influenced flat she shares with her boyfriend. She shared her unconventional first time buyer story and we talked about what they had to do to modernise the flat when moving in and how she used youtube videos to learn how to update her kitchen on a budget.Read More
I'd erased the frustration of buying a property from my mind but after seeing so many people in the same position as we were last year I thought it might be helpful or comforting to share it. We went through it all, landlords selling form under our feet, legal issues, mortgage rejections and even property eating plants. Yep, no 'little shop of horrors', it's a real thing.Read More
