In my recent post about my favourite photographs I told you that I've recently enrolled on a professional photography course at the London Institute of Photography. This is kind of like a condensed photography degree but not academic - It's all taught by industry professionals.Read More

Yesterday I had the pleasure of styling a shoot for 2 very different clients in the same space. As a multi production shoot day I had to source and style items that suited the different brands, one female and one male. Paris oh beloved paris, what a city! The perfect blend of glamour and period detailing. With such an abundant romantic feel, whether its the beautiful sparkled lighted streets at night, loved up getaways, sneaky back street boutiques or the fab flea markets (wonder which is my favourite?!), the whole place is just steeped in a magic all of its own. So, how can we bring a little of Paris to our own homes?Read More
One grey and raining evening this week, I was invited to meet a friend at the Courtauld Institute to discuss some secret future antiques plans (stay tuned for more). I hadn't ever visited before and didn't know that there was a gallery and university based within Somerset House just on London's Strand, so it was fun to be invited in to the building by Harrison and even get to go behind the scenes, with my meeting taking place in the slide room!
I was gratefully allowed to take some snaps around the beautiful building, and got one of the best views of Somerset House.Read More
Yay! We finally have a new sofa. After going for a few years on the trusty old Ikea 'Klippan' we upgraded. In the end I totally ate my words and ended up loving a sofa from DFS made by French Connection, so we went with that. It's called 'Flint', and was just over a grand when you add the extra insurance we took incase Marley (or more likely me) spill stuff on it.
Here's some pics of how the new sofa looks in our living room.Read More
I took my little brother Will along to the Spring fair which is on till the end of the day today, Sunday May 4th (be quick)! As well as getting to view a huge array of great items, from 18th century paintings to 20th century armchairs, I got to meet some brilliant young dealers and ask a few questions. Then we ate cake in the sun. It couldn't of been better really!
So are you ready to get stuck in to some seriously sexy furniture porn? There's a lot, so take a deep breath...
Now I've started my diploma I need a place to study. The living room isn't quite cutting it when you have the non stop police sirens and 80s tracks from Grand Theft Auto blasting all night. So here's the workspace I created for myself...Read More
Hey everyone, take a look inside my bog :) When we moved in the toilet room wasn't high on our list of concerns. The original plan was to knock the wall between the WC and bathroom down and create one larger bathroom. However, after being quoted a high amount to do that, we decided to instead create an awesome feature toilet room. Here's what we did.Read More
I've recently taken a new job as the editor of Smarta. I get to travel around a little, and last week we were in Bristol, this week Birmingham. Our first event of the day was at Fazeley Studios in Digbeth, which when we pulled up outside just looked like a big barn door that I thought would be leading to some warehousey-type studios. When we opened the door to enter, we literally all took a breath!Read More
