DINNER & DECOR: THE TOM DIXON DESIGNED BRONTE

The recently opened Bronte on London's Strand has been making waves in the design world, as does anything that Tom Dixon does really. Is there anything this man can do that the public won't adore?! You'd think we'd all be bored of his aesthetic by now but, nope! It's still going strong and I still love it.

EXPLORING BERT & MAY'S NEW KITCHEN AND BATHROOM RANGE AT THEIR SUPPER CLUB

Back at the beginning of summer, I was invited to be a guest at the new supper club hosted by Bert & May, London based purveyors of encaustic tiles, kitchens and bathrooms. The evenings are for creative people working int he interiors and architectural industry, so not only are they perfect for some great food and to ogle their new products, but a sot of networking too. Cos' I'm so good at that... not!

DINNER & DECOR: BIRTHDAY AND FATHERS DAY AFTERNOON TEA AT SKETCH

The gallery at Sketch has long been on my 'must visit' list. For something that's so up my street when it comes to decor - pink, brass, zig zag marble floors and sarcastic artwork, it was actually making me feel like a complete desIgn failure that I HADN'T YET VISITED. That's why it was THE place to head to for my 31st birthday and fathers day celebrations combined.

DINNER & DECOR: MAD HATTER'S AFTERNOON TEA AT THE SANDERSON HOTEL

It's been a little while since I last did a Dinner & Decor post (don't worry, there's more coming soon), so I thought now would be the perfect time to share a recent trip of mine to The Sanderson Hotel in London where I took my mum and sister for a birthday afternoon tea. Now afternoon tea on any occasion is always exciting, but throw in a lil' bit of Alice action and I was already stumbling over myself to book us in. I mean Alice in Wonderland is like one of the greatest movies of all time, right?! But not the new one, it has to be the sh*tty 70s version with Dudley Moore. Otherwise don't talk to me about it. It's just so perfectly trippy and weird...

Anyway, onto the good stuff!

TRAVEL DIARY: VALENCIA WITH PORCELANOSA, DAY 1

I was so, so lucky and grateful to be invited along by Porcelanosa to go and view their new range of surfaces, tiles, kitchens and bathrooms and to see their factory. Not only was I well up for this idea in general, but then I was informed that this would be taking place at their headquarters in the gorgeous surroundings of Valencia, Spain. SAYYY WHAAAT! This was my first press trip away so I was well excited to see the ins and outs of this luxury brand but also get to hang out with some fellow bloggers and design journos who were just as excited about how ceramic wall tiles were made as me (that sounds like sarcasm, it's not). I'm a huge fan of that show 'how it's made' so a trip to a factory was a little bit heavenly for me.

Anyway, all that stuff will be revealed in Day 2 of this photo diary. but for now, let me walk you through the amazing hospitality that we were shown from Porcelanosa. From slick hotel rooms to mouthwatering food, incredible architecture and sun... yes SUN, real sun!

PHOTO DIARY: AFTERNOON TEA AND CHOCOLATE TOURS WITH HOTEL INDIGO YORK

Ahhh finally! A girls weekend away! Me and my mate and fellow mum Milly were almost frothing at the mouth when hip hotel chain Hotel Indigo asked if we fancied a weekend away in their cool York boutique hotel. With our sights set on eating as much as possible, indulging in as many child free activities as we could and having just a few too many gin and tonics, the weekend set off to a great start. And then Hotel Indigo really pulled it out of the bag when they saved us from near disaster...

DINNER & DECOR: COUNTER, VAUXHALL

It's been a few weeks since I last got my grub on to bring you the best of London's Dinner & Decor - the coolest / tastiest / snazziest restaurants with both munch and interiors that will whet your appetite. Today I'm reviewing Counter in Vauxhall, a restaurant and bar that sits in the arches of Vauxhall train station. And this little spot definitely over delivered...

DINNER & DECOR: BALANS SOHO SOCIETY (KENSINGTON)

Next up in the Dinner & Decor series I'm off to the westsiiide (kinda) for a little poke around Balans Soho Society's recently refurnished branch in Kensington. With a decor based around old English curiosities and a full size tree taking centre stage in the main dining area, you know it's gonna be interesting. I took along my friend Naomi to help me sample the menu, and of course a few cocktails. She was on a very strict diet based around some of her health issues, so we knew Balans were going to have to be really attentive to her needs. How do you think they did? Read on...
